Roadside Attraction — Belek, December 2025 – January 2026

I keep coming back to how a route can gather meaning without explanation. Across the turn of the year, I marked Belek again and again, letting each new place-name shift the same patch of the journey into a different light.

The route begins with one name

On December 30, the record is simply Belek: a place held without comment, as though the name alone were enough [1]. By January 2, Themepark enters the frame [2]. A day later, Funland follows [3]. The movement is slight but telling—the route stays anchored in Belek while its labels become more particular, more suggestive of stopping rather than merely passing through.

A day doubles, then the map widens

January 3 holds another name: Funfair, paired with Belek on the same day as Funland [4]. Then, on January 5, the notation changes to Antalya, Belek—and appears twice [5][6]. That repetition feels like a final act of placement: after the attractions and their shifting names, the journey closes by locating Belek within a larger geographical phrase.
